Legal admissions agencies in Australia are on the lookout for fraudsters practicing law after Alexander Stuart Pinnock, also known as Alec Stuart was sentenced to a fine and a community corrections order.
Mr Stuart conned clients holding himself out as a lawyer, Mr Pinnock declared he had been admitted on 5 January 2020. This was not true.
Mr Pinnock created a false NSW Practising certificate and Certificate of Good Standing, which were used to apply for a practising certificate in Queensland.
He also falsely declared that he was the holder of a current NSW practising certificate in order to obtain a NSW Law Society membership card for those who hold practising certificates.
He pleaded guilty to these charges and relied on mental health grounds to avoid prison.
