Graduation '08

Leech Lake Tribal College held its sixteenth annual Commencement Ceremony on May 10, at the Northern Lights Event Center in Walker , with Lakota Olympic Gold Medalist, Billy Mills delivering the keynote address.

President Leah Carpenter presented diplomas to 38 students, including Co-Valedictorians, Donald Davidson and Daniel Eli Gazelka, who each graduated with a 4.0 Grade Point Average, and Salutatorian William David Davis II, who completed his studies with a 3.96 GPA.

Other students honored during the ceremonies included Student of the Year, Nicole Beaulieu, who was also selected to give a special address in Ojibwemowin; Frank LaRoque, recipient of a $500 Alumni Memorial Scholarship; and Ernest Garbow, who was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the National Indian Gaming Association.
